An unabashed revision of a post that first appeared back in 2017, in response to a list from Paste Magazine. I thought it deserved an update, as the beer landscape, battered by Covid and economic upheaval, has changed radically.
As senses reawaken, apparently so does the spark of collaboration and with these gorgeous ales, Double Mountain and E9 both have something to immediately get us excited about.
“Juicy Clearly Not Hazy” is a big, fat, JUICY milepost in the evolution of PNW brewing and it’s going to help change your mind about whether Life Without Fog is possible.
Just this week, I got samples from two exceptional PNW brewers whom I would have probably chosen if someone had come to me and said, “Name a brewery in each state that you would bet money on making a great Brut.”
A 35K town with five bad breweries in it belongs on the list of “Waste of Gas and Time”, not in “Hidden Gems”.
